Senior Player Registration Evening

The senior player registration evening will be held on Friday 9th April. The annual subscription, which hopefully all those members not paying by standing order, should pay on this night will be determined at the AGM so I cannot give you a price just yet.
Registration will take place between 7.15pm and 8.00pm then Gareth Wynne will be hosting a music quiz for the remainder of the night. Cue the bad jokes about Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones. Cost of entry to the quiz will be £1 per person.

Hatfield Cricket Club Golf Day

The venue for the golf day will be Redbourn Golf Club.

This will be held on the Thursday of cricket week (29th July). Full details to follow

Hatfield Cricket Club F.C. - The Beginning

Firstly, apologies to those of you have no interest in this but it maybe something that some of you will want to be a part of.

As a way to generate funds over the winter months when the cricket club is mainly closed I had the idea that a good way of ensuring use of the clubhouse during the winter was to get football back at the club.... Read More

Hatfield CC Tour 2010

As from the start of the new year work has begun on bringing together this years cricket tour. The important parts for you to remember initially are that the tour will take place from Monday 21st June to Friday 25th June 2010.

It has been decided that due to popular demand we will be returning to Morpeth and once again staying at Longhirst Hall (Micklewood Park - Cottages). This venue was overwhelmingly voted a major plus from last year’s tourists, especially the breakfasts!!!!!

Also by popular demand will be the method of travel, as once again we will be choo chooing up to the northeast. I am once again happy to play the part of arranging this years tour, but you guys can all assist me by ensuring that I have no need to chase you all for either commitment to touring, and more importantly monies that are due. This is by far and away the most stressful part of the tour and you can all do your bit by bombarding me with your availability and your cash!!!!!

The proposed itinerary is as follows:-

Mon 21 Jun – 20/20 match (morning travel to Morpeth)
Tue 22 Jun – 40 over match (At Longhirst Hall – Main pitch)
Wed 23 Jun – 20/20 match (England v Slovenia 3pm – watch at venue)
Thu 24 Jun – Newcastle Races (NO FIXTURE)
Fri 25 Jun – Lunchtime departure (NO FIXTURE)

I am now awaiting proposed costs for this years tour. It is anticipated that the cost will not be anymore than last years price of £150 for accommodation, train travel and tour shirt. However depending on the fixture situation we may well decide to hire Longhirst Hall’s pitch and have a game amongst ourselves if no opposition can be found. I will update you on this as and when I find out. Therefore if we can increase the numbers from 18 tourists last year to possibly 22 we will have all bases covered.

Also please be reminded all of you golfers that there is the opportunity to play on at least one good course within the grounds of where we are staying. Ask Tony Jakes or Terry Brame for details of this.

So this year’s tour is kind of like a mini Olympics, packed with cricket, golf, football and horse racing. What a week it promises to be.

It is highly likely that this year we will collect the money in 2 instalments. They will probably be the end of February £75 and the end of March £balance. This will allow me to pay deposits for all of us and get rail tickets at the most cost effective time.

I am aware that some of you will choose to make your own way up to Morpeth and also some of you will join us at different times throughout the week. I will still buy train tickets for you for whatever days you decide to join us.

Please let me know if you are planning to tour this year so as I can gauge the interest.

Hear from you soon guys.

Richard Hazeldene

****** Important Update *******

Richard Hazeldene requires tour deposits to be paid by 12th March. A payment of £50 is required from at least 12 members in order for us to keep the price that has been quoted (about £150 for travel and accommodation).

Please contact Richard on richard.hazeldene@sainsburys.co.uk for further details. If there are not 12 deposits by the 12th March then the tour will be cancelled.
